1. Who operates Bingelo
Bingelo is operated by Kerem Ar, an individual based in Türkiye. Kerem Ar is the data controller for personal information processed through Bingelo. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
2. Information we handle
Depending on the features you use, Bingelo handles:
We collect information directly from you when you create or update an account, use app features, post content, upload an import, or contact support. Our app and website also receive technical information from your device and browser as you use them. If you choose Google sign-in, Google provides the account details you authorize. Your device provides a push token when you enable push notifications.
- Account and sign-in information: email address, username, display name, password hash, account and verification status, session records, and information provided by Google or Apple when you choose to sign in with them. Sign in with Apple can give us a private relay email address instead of your own.
- Profile and viewing information: bio, selected profile artwork, shows and movies in your libraries, watched episodes and movies, favorites, ratings, viewing statistics, and lists. Public profile pages show library information and statistics; lists you mark private remain private.
- Community information: follows, blocks, comments, replies, likes, reports, public activity, and feature requests you submit.
- Notification information: notification preferences and the device push token used to deliver notifications. You can change notification preferences in the app and revoke operating-system notification permission in your device settings.
- Subscription information: if you buy Bingelo+, your subscription's product, store, status, and end date. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never receive your payment card details. We use RevenueCat, a subscription service, to confirm purchases, and it receives your Bingelo user ID and your purchase details.
- Import, export, and support information: files and records you choose to import or export, and messages you send to support.
- Operational information: security and session events, connection details such as IP address, and limited request and error information (for example request IDs, paths, response statuses, and timings) needed to run, troubleshoot, and protect the service. The app does not request precise GPS location.
3. How we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; save your libraries and viewing records; provide profiles, lists, comments, and notifications; process imports, exports, and deletion requests; answer support messages; prevent abuse and protect the service; and meet legal obligations. Depending on the law that applies to you, processing may be based on providing the service you request, your choices or permissions, our legitimate interests in operating a secure service, or a legal obligation.
4. What other people can see
Bingelo has public profiles. Other users can see the profile and community information the app presents publicly, which may include your username, display name, bio, selected artwork, library sections and statistics, followers and following, comments, replies, likes, and public lists. Do not add information to a public profile or post that you do not want other users to see. Private lists are not shown publicly.
5. When information is shared
We share only what is needed to provide Bingelo, protect it, or meet the law. Current service providers include Google when you use Google sign-in and Google Fonts for web typefaces; Apple when you use Sign in with Apple; Apple, Google, and RevenueCat for Bingelo+ subscriptions; Resend for account emails; Expo, Apple, and Google for push notification delivery; and TMDB and TheTVDB for catalog information and artwork delivery. Bingelo's hosting, database, and other infrastructure providers may process information, including connection details, to store and operate the service. We may also disclose information when required by law or needed to protect users and the service.
Catalog requests are made by Bingelo's services. When your device loads catalog artwork, it may connect directly to the relevant image delivery service. These providers handle information under their own privacy terms. Bingelo does not sell personal information or include advertising in the current mobile app.
6. International processing
Bingelo is available to users in different countries. We and the service providers described above may process information in countries other than the one where you live. Where required, we use safeguards for international transfers under applicable data protection law.
7. Storage, retention, and deletion
Mobile sign-in credentials are stored using the operating system's secure storage. The website uses necessary session cookies and local browser storage for its interface and cached profile data.
We keep account information while your account is active. You can request deletion from Settings; the deletion flow removes account, profile, tracking, list, social, import, notification, and session data from the services that hold them. A minimal internal account identifier is retained to prevent deleted account data from being recreated. Some information may be retained where required by law or for security and dispute handling. In-app notifications expire after 24 hours when read, 72 hours when unread, or 14 days for comment-related notifications.
An import archive is kept temporarily while a completed review can be applied, for up to 30 minutes. It is removed after the apply job finishes, when you upload another archive, or when the review expires. The latest applied import report and its checkpoints remain until account deletion.
8. Your choices and rights
You can update profile information, manage notification preferences, export available account data, and delete your account in Settings. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. To make a request or ask how these rights apply, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your account before responding.
9. Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our data practices change. The date above shows when this policy was last revised.
